Cirque Dreams: Holidaze Saint Louis Theatre reviews
Noise substitutes for music.
"Cirque Dreams: Holidaze, greatest disappointment of all, got confused by the rookie assumption that "loud equals cool." And perhaps the volume of the two warm up bands simply deadened their cochleas, but there's no excuse for playing music so loud that the reverb totally drowns out the tune and the lyrics. Bursts of noise with no apparent wit or reason. Awful. Seriously. Mind-numbingly Loud. It would have been more fun to stand in the front of a jet engine and just absorb the sound blasts. What a turn off."
Iron Maiden Still Puts on a Good Show!
1. To make matters worse, my ticket listed a start time of 7:30 and Dream Theater went on at 7.
2. Maybe I was just standing in the wrong place, but the vocals were almost indiscernible from the music.
3. Their last 4 songs were from the early days and received at least twice the cheers than the OK songs from their later years that made up the playlist for the whole show.
4. I listened to it all the way home. At least I got to hear Pull Me Under.
5. I do wonder if Cirque Dreams: Holidaze listens to the crowd.
6. No songs from Piece of Mind, which IMO is their best album.
7. It was a good concert spoiled by a lousy sound system/mix.
Fabulous!
The experience of seeing them in person was incredible, and the energy and talent of this group were awesome! Every member of the band showcased their talent and moments to jam, so respectful of their fan base. Every member of the band seemed so happy and delighted to be sharing their music with the fans. We hope to see DMB many more times and in different venues. Nonetheless, it was a memorable experience. 1st time ever to be able to stand in the pit at Ak Chin Pavilion, and while it was a beautifully cool night outside for Arizona, there was little to no air movement in the pit. They should really add fans above or to the side of the covered pit to get better airflow because we nearly melted. Can’t imagine how it would be to be there on a hot night.
Ready to Re-Load... Again!!
Thomas Rhett, Dierks Bently, and Cirque Dreams: Holidaze put on an amazing show!! I was not familiar with Thomas, but he managed to steal the show in the 30 minutes that he played. His EP was downloaded by me when I got home. Dierks put on an impressive show, breaking out a little bluegrass with "Up On The Ridge" and an acoustic version of "Settle For A Slow Down". It was refreshing to see that Dierks and his band still have respect for bluegrass in this pop country society we are living in. Cirque Dreams: Holidaze took the stage, and just as she did the last time I saw her, she blew everyone away. She cried through "Over You", I cried too (as I lost my mom 15 months ago), but I would have liked to hear her sing the song instead of the audience. She played a great set, closed out with a duet with Dierks, then came back on stage to sing "White Liar" and a couple more songs with Dierks and Thomas. Over all, it was well worth the price of my ticket!
